Dragon Ball fans are no strangers when it comes to multiple timelines and universes. Among those things, there are also future planets and future characters that are introduced since the early days of Dragon Ball Z. Now, even the King of All, Zeno-sama, have his future counterpart. That is why there is no surprise when the Dragon Ball Movie 2018 will have two different timelines.

Todd Blakenship translated an interview which features Dragon Room chief Akio Iyoku. The interview can be found in the official Dragon Ball site. According to the interview, the Dragon Ball Super movie will have a ” “multilayered” story with parts set in both the past and present and multiple settings.” Todd Blakenship also added that there Akira Toriyama provides the story and designs that will be used in the movie.
There are at least 20 sheets of design that Toriyama provided for this movie. This includes new character designs, new machines, and one new planet. It seems like a new time travel machine will be included in the movie. And of course, if there’s someone who can do magnificent machines (that we hope are real), that would be Bulma. It is possible that this new machine is another product of Capsule Corporation.
