Hey guys! In this post, I’m going to talk about something very interesting that I came across recently in Dragon Ball Super. You all are probably aware of who Yamoshi is by now. I’ve talked about him so many times now. Yamoshi is the guy who we saw when the Super Saiyan God was mentioned by Shenron back in Battle of Gods, and Dragon Ball Super. If you don’t know who Yamoshi is, let me explain.
Yamoshi is the first Super Saiyan to emerge in the world of Dragon Ball, and the same person who was feared by Freeza. This was long before the Saiyans had settled on Planet Vegeta.
He, along with his five friends were once cornered by everyone from the Saiyan race. It seems like Yamoshi and his friends were actually planning some sort of Coup. Because they were on the verge of losing, Yamoshi was able to transform into a Super Saiyan.

Note that there has been a lot of confusion about whether Yamoshi was the Super Saiyan God or not. But, if we follow the legend, then he didn’t actually become a Super Saiyan God. His transformation was actually the simple Super Saiyan transformation, not Super Saiyan God. Different people have interpreted it differently, but to me, it seems like Yamoshi didn’t become Super Saiyan God.
However, after dying, his soul wandered, and looked for six Saiyans with righteous hearts, and Yamoshi’s soul declared the one who gets their Ki as the Super Saiyan God. That’s how i see it. Now it is interesting to see that Goku has actually met Yamoshi already. Back when he fought Beerus in space, Goku was almost overpowered by him. He even conceded his defeat, but somehow, Goku was able to push harder and match Beerus.
According to Goku himself, he met the soul of the Super Saiyan God, and he told him to keep pushing. This is very interesting in my opinion. I think people would have noticed this already, but since we didn’t know anything about Yamoshi at that time, nobody really paid any attention to it. This certainly means that Yamoshi has contacted Goku already, and maybe even Vegeta.
I think Yamoshi might become an important part of the story in the future of Dragon Ball Super. The movie that we’re getting this year is based on Saiyans, and their history. I think Yamoshi is the biggest part of the Saiyan history, so he should be in the movie. There is also some speculation about him being related to Vegeta. Let’s face it, he looks just like Vegeta. So, maybe our questions will be answered in December 2018.
