Dragon Ball Super’s end was announced a couple of days ago, and it’s all that the community has been talking about since then. According to various sources, the series will end on March 25th, and Episode 131 of Dragon Ball Super will be its last. There have been many rumors suggesting that Dragon Ball Super is on a hiatus, but that’s not the case as far as we know it. The series is definitely ending.
According to various people who work within the franchise, it is undecided whether the series will resume in the future, or not. However, there is going to be a movie in December of this year, which is going to be huge. There may be other plans that we don’t know about yet, but hopefully we’ll be notified when something is decided.
As mentioned earlier, right now, a return of the series doesn’t look like it is impossible. They haven’t decided it yet, but in my opinion, a new series might begin sometime in 2019. A lot of other people think the same, and that’s just my take on it. But, if you want something to cling on to, listen to something that one of the Voice Actors said recently.
Toshio Furukawa, the actor who voices Piccolo responded to the farewell tweet, posted by the official Dragon Ball Super Twitter handle. The DBS handle bid farewell to the fans, and asked for the support until the very end. They also asked people to look forward to what’s coming, and of course, the movie in December 2018.
Here’s what Toshio Furukawa had to say about Dragon Ball Super ending, as translated by @Herms98:

“Until the end? Oh no!… But it’ll still keep going. Phew! (*^_^*) Maybe Super’s last episode will lay the groundwork for what comes next (* That’s just what I think) Either way, there is the movie to look forward to~!”
While he does clearly state that this is his own opinion, Voice Actors are generally in the know, and they know what’s to come prior to it actually happening. Since Tohsio Furukawa is such an important part of the show, it is likely that he is hinting towards something, in my opinion. However, I could be wrong about this.
This is just what I think he meant. Hopefully, he is right and the final episode of Dragon Ball Super really does hint at what’s to come. We won’t have to with too long though, as the end is very near. What do you guys think about the end of Dragon Ball Super anime?
