Akira Toriyama finally revealed the legend of the first Super Saiyan, and while not all fans are happy about the revelation, it was accepted as the new DB rule nonetheless. The timely revelation is attributed to the new Dragon Ball Super movie that is said to be coming this year.
Yamoshi and a small group of pure-hearted Saiyans once existed in evil-infested Planet Vegeta. They plan to make a rebellion, but were overwhelmed by the number of enemies they got to face. Because of the desperate situation, Yamoshi transformed into the legendary form known as the Super Saiyan. But because of exhaustion and the sheer number of enemies, Yamoshi and his comrades were defeated. Since then, Yamoshi’s soul started a journey for the search of the Super Saiyan God.
But with the hype of Ultra Instinct right now, does Super Saiyan transformations still matters? Super Saiyan forms are all still useful in the right circumstances. But if Goku successfully mastered the Ultra Instinct, he will never need to use SSJ transformations anymore.
I personally think that the battle will not end with Goku in his new and shiny Ultra Instinct form. Sure, y’all guys want it, we all want to see the Ultra Instinct once again. But there is another more interesting ending that I have been thinking about: Goku will be in a Super Saiyan form in the final battle. I am not sure what SSJ form would it be, but it is likely from the God forms.
And there is a chance that Yamoshi, the first Super Saiyan will be appearing in the Tournament of Power. We have seen to many times that Goku will get stronger the more he is being pushed into a corner. It would be a perfect opportunity that in Goku’s hopelessness, Yamoshi will speak to him and lend more of his power as the Super Saiyan God. Yamoshi did the same thing before during Goku’s battle against Beerus in the English dub of Super, you can watch the battle again and you will find out about it.
It is also possible that Yamoshi is actually the one who enables Goku to reach Ultra Instinct. He was previewed only as a silhouette during Goku’s transformation as SSG and theories circulating around points at Yamoshi as the second voice in Goku’s Ultra Instinct.
