Hey guys! I hope you all are doing mighty fine. I’m back here with another interesting post. So, today’s post is about Karma’s power, and its side effects in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. Also, this post contains a lot of possible spoilers so whoever does not like to read spoilers, please stay away. So, without further delay let us begin.
First things first, let us talk about what ‘Karma’ is in the first place. Karma is simply the name of the Otsutsuki curse mark or Otsutsuki seal who is given or acquired by a human being after killing any Otsutsuki clan member.
So, to put in simple words, Karma is just the name of a seal. The name of the Otsutsuki clan curse mark was revealed in chapter 23 of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga. When Boruto Uzumaki’s Otsutsuki clan curse mark seemed to be activated, Kashin Koji referred it to as Karma.
So, how did Boruto Uzumaki get his Karma seal and what are the powers and abilities of his Karma seal? This happened when Momoshiki Otsutsuki, and Kinshiki Otsutsuki attacked Konohagakure in order to capture the chakra of Naruto Uzumaki. Naruto who is a pseudo-Jinchuuriki of the Ten-Tails, that is, he has the chakra of all the nine tailed beasts inside him.
After Momoshiki Otsutsuki and Kinshiki Otsutsuki sensed this humongous chakra, there was only one thing on their mind; how to acquire it. So, when Naruto was taken by the two Otsutsukis, all other kage along with Sasuke Uchiha and Boruto Uzumaki went to save him. In the end, Boruto’s disappearing Rasengan did the trick as Momoshiki Otsutsuki put his guard down. Later, with Naruto Uzumaki’s chakra, Boruto Uzumaki created an ultimate big ball Rasengan and put an end to Momoshiki Otsutsuki.
After Momoshiki Otsutsuki died, he again appeared and gave Boruto Uzumaki his Karma Seal. Now, what is Karma’s Power? Well if anyone acquires this Karma seal it means that the powers that were of the Otsutsuki being are granted to the host via a Karma seal. But also there is a theory that it has consequences like the possibility of killing the host, and resurrecting the Otsutsuki being.
Now, coming to the powers and abilities of Boruto’s Karma seal. Momoshiki Otsutsuki had the power to absorb all ninjutsu with his Rinnegan which was in the palms of his both hands. With one Rinnegan he could absorb all ninjutsu and with other, he could use the same against his opponents with even greater effect as we saw in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations episode 55 when Momoshiki Otsutsuki absorbed killer Bee’s tailed beast bomb and used it to destroy him. When it comes to the power that would be granted to Boruto, it is obviously going to be similar.
Similarly, Boruto’s Karma’s Power is to absorb all ninjutsu but whether he is able to just absorb ninjutsu or use it like Momoshiki Otsutsuki against opponents or store it remains to be seen. Also, we know that Kawaki also has Karma, but we do not know which Otsutsuki clan member he has killed to acquire his Karma. We at least know that only by killing an Otsutsuki clan member, you can get Karma.
So, we do not know what powers and abilities of Karma that Kawaki has are. Also, Jigen and other inner members of Kara have a Karma as well and maybe even Kashin Koji has Karma, but since he was able to easily defeat Konohamaru he did not need to use the power of his Karma seal. This also means that the ability Jigen has will be certainly something awesome, and that is the reason why he has made other Karma’s bearers obey him and make his organisation, Kara.
It remains unknown that how Jigen and other Kara members got their Karma seals. There are theories that Kawaki kills Urashiki Otsutsuki to get his Karma but no one has any sort of clue about how members of Kara got their seals. Are the statues of Otsutsuki members shown in the Kaguya’s dimensions the ones that were killed by them or were there any other Otsutsuki members that we do not know about yet? Well, we can just write theories and wait for the next chapter.
That is it from today’s post about Karma’s power and abilities in Boruto. Hope you guys found this discussion interesting. If you do not agree with the points in the post and have some of your own opinions, share them with us in the comments section down below.
