Vegeta is one of the main warriors in the Tournament of Power. He’s from Universe 7, which I think most of you already know. So far, Vegeta has done extremely well in the Tournament of Power, and has made one of the highest number of eliminations by a single warrior. He’s fought against some of the strong ones as well, like Toppo of Universe 11.
Some episodes ago, we even saw Vegeta trying to go up against Jiren. This was after Goku had fought against Jiren, so he knew what he was getting into. Yet, he looked pretty confident. However, back then, he was stopped by Toppo. But now, he’s actually going to do it. Thanks to the Dragon Ball Super spoilers, we now know that Vegeta is going to challenge the “strongest” in the Tournament of Power to a fight.
Now, we all know who the strongest in the Tournament of Power is. It’s definitely going to be Jiren. While we do have to wait until January 7 2018 until we get to see the episode, I think it’s going to be worth the wait. Right now, all we know is that Vegeta will be up against Jiren. So, when you look at it, it could go either ways. But, I do not think that Vegeta will defeat Jiren. There’s a reason for that.
First, we all know that Jiren is out of Vegeta’s class, possibly even Goku’s as well, even with Ultra Instinct. But, the biggest reason behind this is simple. He always goes down fighting the main antagonists, and then Goku, or someone else finishes them off. This happened in the Freeza Saga, against the Androids, then against Cell, and even against Buu, followed by Beerus.
Following the pattern, there is no question Vegeta will win this. I know Toshio, one of the writers for Dragon Ball Super basically said that he wrote a “Cool Vegeta” episode, and episode 122 is likely going to be it. However, I don’t think this means that Vegeta will win against Jiren. I think Vegeta either attains Ultra Instinct, or there’s an interesting theory that suggests he’ll kill Freeza, which I think could be the case. Either way, we’ve been teased a lot about the Goku vs Jiren rematch and that’s going to happen. There’s no doubt about it.
It is possible that we’re going to see Vegetto vs Jiren as well. I won’t deny that possibility. If that does happen, Vegeta might be able to stay in the Tournament of Power. But, at this point, I don’t think they’ll go for a Potara fusion, or maybe even a regular fusion. This is just my opinion though. If the fusion doesn’t happen, then Vegeta is going to be eliminated for sure. In my opinion, he’ll probably get a cool moment, and then be eliminated.
